A Hot Day In August

That is what it is, you open the door and it really is like opening the oven, after nearly 3 inches of rain over night the steam from the earth comes up and hits you in the face, so actually it is more like opening the dishwasher just when it finishes.
We have had a series of days above 90 so plants did need the water. However 3 inches is an excess.

So cleaning a closet, and it is really very easy to toss maybe sweaters, you know maybe I will wear that and then you never do. Another hot day I tossed coats. While dong this I thought of my blog and it has suffered a bit without everyday postings.
I took photos yesterday before the deluge. Makes one think of Jackson Brown when I say that. I decided to do my combination digital art and a painting using my photo and my art. Things are heaped on the bed and I will get back to that closet.

Also one extra garden photo of a favorite phlox and hydrangea.

Emelie your digital art is incredible!! I would love to learn how to combine a painting and a photos one day!! This is perfect because you have such talent in both areas and this combines the two just beautifully!!

Yes, I love digital art also, and not a clue about how to do it, but I'm hoping it's in my future, because I love how you apply it.

Beautiful art and gardens, Emelie, and I love how you're able to combine the two digitally! Beautiful work. And, oh, how I can relate to the so many hot 90 degree days in a row without rain...and then a real drenger of a storm to follow. I love your relating it to opening the dishwasher ~~ perfect translation ... and it surely doesn't make for a "good hair day," does it? Wishing you cooler, less humid days real soon ... and a feeling of great relief and accomplishment in cleaning out your closets, ;). xoxo

Your garden is so inviting and beautiful. Your hard work there pays off. Our days are 100º + and oppressive. You wouldn't think so but there really is a difference felt in 10º. Beautiful digital work.

oh so creative creative...your garden is STUPENDOUS! i am walking through it now, before the afternoon sun hits us!
i started Sylvia's Farm, thanks to you emelie, and am loving it! it isn't at all like my start in raising sheep, but there is a definite strain of familarity that runs through it. xo
