Beyond Abstract

I enjoy things that are cluttered, can you tell. This is paint and a lot of small paper pieces cut from magazines.. I want to do more, also like painting with the palette knife, just a change in my art desires.

Liking Peter Mitchev

This is like his paintings only it is all fiber, 12 different fabrics some of them neckties. The cat does not show up so much but, it is nice to see something the second time you look.

an Error Message

I am laughing, Carol King is singing You're So Vain" I didn't think these photos of myself were working, there was no indication they were, so I left the blog in a huff. so there I am three times. Oh well I will leave them for a day or two Have to post with a picture collage and paint, papers also.

A face of fiber

total fabric, created as in the previous post, 12 different fabrics.

This fabric just said hair, use this now.  I start with a factory pied of quilted fabric, then add some back ground choices,  then cut the face and neck shape, find little bits for eyes, pupils separate from the whites of eyes, often I use the wrong side of fabric, then some hair or head dress of sorts. I cut several mouth shapes, then start to sew, lots of back and forth sewing, then more additions, finally lots of top stiches.  Feel free to ask questions.  will answer in next post or an email if you leave it.

The trials of new computer, I don't understand it, that isn't quite true I do but can't get things right, I hate the ads that show on this blog on the old computer, can get rid of them for a while and new ones show up.  I don't need photos of someone else's declining behind, I can see that at home. I don't even want to see someone else's firm behind and that is because I can't see that at home.
The other thing is color of my posts are not as good as on the old.  What I did learn is the angel of the laptop screen changes the color a lot.  I see the same with the TV.
This is another fiber art face, a lot of these works are experiments,  learn as you go, the best way to learn is to do it, give it your all, give he new part of your life the best that you have, you willhave more the next time.

Long time, better get with it

haven't been posting, not busy just neglectful, have spent time painting sewing, and general stuff that doesn't matter. Things that matter to me. 
Have done a lot of quilting, faces that are all fiber. I will be posting some of them.

Fondness for Cats

I am partial to cats, circles, and half circles, when feeling sort of off or not quite right I always revert to areas of comfort such as painting what seems to come without frustration.  Nothing like having something started to work on, even several somethings now and then.

Gustav Klimt

Who doesn't like him?  Seems to me there is so much passion in his work, not just the amount of work, but what the paintings speak to the viewer.  So a piece of Klimt designed fabric and a bit of my own work and there is a feeling there, maybe not so much passion, but in a way yes there is passion also if only for compostion, and color.  If you feel that stirring in your mid section and it has to do with paint, then what else could it be but passion.

I had this face painted, hadn't prepared a background, didn't know what to do so I let the computer do it for me, three times.

Bigger. Better

Rather than edit, I will do a new post. not much for explanation except I wanted bigger, bigger than the previous post.

There is a Difference

At least I am going to claim there is, the difference between excited and boasting. It isn't often that I do something I really like,  sort of like, or feel Ok, and I didn't really like this at first, but I like the faded face.
This is digital art, fabric, paintings, hand written words, in collage. So excitement and good feelings.

You Would Think

AFter 47 years of painting that what I have in my head would translate unto paper. It doesn't, I am always surprised by what does.
