The painting you see is 16x20 It was hard for me to work this size, I had done a 14X18 previous and found that more confortable. I will keep this up for a while and see how I feel about it. Right now the red feels right with this heat wave, plus it took me quite a few days to do this work. Another problem I don't think I did the gesso heavy enough before I started. The paint didn't work nicely, the pencils didn't work nicely either.
Garden photos, one very blurry, but I still like the feeling it has, sort of a painting, one after a storm when the world was an odd color, the odd color was a neon yellow it come off sort of pink in the photo. Then some normal type photos.
Have you ever felt sun burned and bug bit?

Keep going Emelie--it's our best way of learning--not thinking about it--just doing--it can never be a disappointment this way.
I love how your artwork is growing.
And as always--beautiful gardening--I hope you're keeping cool. I've been just shut up in the Air conditioning. I have no idea what it's really like outside--just like winter :)
I LOVE your painting....it's vibrant....wonderful colors...beautiful.
going bigger is such a change and challenge, but you'll learn so much, truly. and good for you for going for it! i would never have known that you struggled with this em, it doesn't look that way, it is absolutely beautiful! but i know of what you speak. i still have a hard time fixing larger paintings, taking longer and me wanting to move on. but then...THERE YOU SUDDENLY HAVE IT! she looks as though she is walking through that special garden of yours! xo
Oh I love how she looks like she's straight from your glorious garden with her bird and butterfly! Beautiful and enjoying all your garden photos - (I 've definitely felt burned and bit too)
Hi Emelie!
Thank you for visiting my blog and your nice comments. I have seen your art grow since the online class we were in on Sharon Tomlinson's blog....I have to get back to faces but i am a bit intimidated by them...I love the "lightness" of your art...it has such a wonderful quality about it...I can't quite find the perfect word...but I do really like your colors and all that is going on in your paintings....
gorgeous! all of them are just beautiful! ok, now i'm going to be a follower of your blog!
